Maria Adelaida Martinez is a Postdoctoral Scholar at DIL. Her work focuses on development economics, migration, and education. She received her Ph.D. in Public Policy Studies from The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy in 2023. Prior to her Ph.D., she worked for the Social Sector at the Interamerican Development Bank (IADB). Her current research studies the factors driving school sorting and its effects on children’s schooling outcomes. She will join Bentley University as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2024. Maria Adelaida is originally from Colombia and holds a BA and MA in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes.
