Mauricio Ortiz-Riomalo is a Research Professional at DIL. He supports Vesall Nourani in a rural education program in Colombia and is working with Leah Rosenzweig in a COVID-19 vaccine acceptance study. Before joining DIL, he completed a Master in Public Policy at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. He has previously worked in the National Planning Department at the Government of Colombia, designing and supervising evaluations of public housing projects and resocialization programs in prison. He also assisted in the discussions and design of public policy documents on topics such as health, criminal policy, national security, productive development policies, and social infrastructure. He holds a Master in Political Science and was a research assistant in a think tank (Observatorio de la Democracia, Universidad de Los Andes) where he contributed to the design of public opinion surveys and the analysis of democratic attitudes and behavior.
